Big Five personality traits

Five sliding scales, not five boxes.

The Big Five describes broad patterns in how people think, plan, socialize, cooperate, and respond emotionally. Every person has a position on every trait, and both ends can carry strengths.

How BrightType uses the Big Five

BrightType reports each trait on a continuous 0–100 scale. Scores describe your answers on this questionnaire; they are not population percentiles, diagnoses, or judgments of ability. Middle scores can reflect flexibility, while scores nearer either end suggest a more consistent preference.

Because traits work together, the full pattern matters more than any single number. Someone can be highly curious and highly structured, socially energized and emotionally sensitive, or cooperative while still direct.
